Fernando Namora

Se te pedirem, amor, se te pedirem
que contes a velha história
da nau que partiu
e se perdeu,
não contes, amor, não contes
que o mar és tu
e a nau sou eu.

E se pedirem, amor, e se pedirem
que contes a velha fábula
do lobo que matou o cordeiro
e lhe roeu as entranhas,
não contes, amor, não contes
que o lobo é a minha carne
e o cordeiro a minha estrela
que sempre tu conheceste
e te guiou — mal ou bem.

Depois, sabes, estou enjoado
desta farsa.
Histórias, fábulas, amores
tudo me corre os ouvidos
a fugir.

Sou o guerreiro sem forças
para erguer a sua espada,
sou o piloto do barco
que a tempestade afundou.

Não contes, amor, não contes
que eu tenho a alma sem luz.

...Quero-me só, a sofrer e arrastar
a minha cruz.
